Following some sad news and in anticipation of having to arrange a funeral within the next few days I contacted

City of Leeds
Funeral Services

I had seen them advertised and kept a copy of their advertisement, thinking that they were part of Leeds City Council.

I spoke to Mr Philip Thomason who also runs Thomasons Funeral Service.

What relief to feel so at ease with Philip who was not phased at me asking questions in preparation for death and funeral. Philip explained the options and advised me they were not part of Leeds City Council, more importantly they would arrange a funeral to fit your budget.

When I had to contact him after our loss, he again reassured me that they would repatriate our loved one to Leeds, he went out his way to liaise with the company and kept me fully up to date with everything that was happening. We went through the details for the funeral with him, he was compassionate and very aware of other issues around this funeral and dealt with them in a thoroughly professional manner. The Covid restrictions were fully explained and fully respected by all concerned. I also spoke to Matthew the celebrant for the company and between us we came up with a very true reflection of our deceased.

To be honest this funeral in many ways was better than ones I had arranged in the past (which were considerably more expensive in 2003 and 2005), don’t think that anyone would have seen any difference from some of the more expensive funerals that are around now. I would fully recommend “City of Leeds” funeral services and also Thomasons you will receive a brilliant, caring service whichever you choose.
